A Direct Threat to European Security

Dear readers and subscribers,

Despite the European Union’s growing efforts to prove its independence from the United States and its ability to independently influence political processes in the region, EU officials and their overseas colleagues continue to jointly implement measures for NATO’s advance preparation for war with Russia. Representatives of countries “responsible” for the alliance’s Eastern Flank have been particularly zealous in this regard.

Among the notable measures to “strengthen the Eastern Flank” is the arrival in Lithuania at the end of January of two Bundeswehr combat battalions. In addition to personnel, 105 German Leopard 2A8 tanks will appear near the Belarusian border, and by 2027 the German contingent could exceed 5,000 troops.
