It's just not happening without the complicity of corrupt African leaders, politicians , and well-connected businessmen controlling trade monopolies who--as with the transatlantic slave trade-- line their pockets to the exclusive expense of selling out (and literally selling) millions of their own brethren. During the colonial times, Africa was divided between 2 Empires: the French and British ones. Now 2 new Empires rose up to carve the continent and extract their ressources: Russia and China! A guess at how it will turn out?
Well, the Russians shot their shot with doing their best to indoctrinate all our young people into communism in the 60s, holding out the carrot of free education in return. It only went so far with us uber-enterprising Nigerians, for whom turning a buck (or pound, or, now, a naira) is a downright genetic trait.
My guess, since you ask, is that unless our prayers are answered and G d intervenes in a big way, Nigerian politicians will continue to sell out their people and continue to give away contracts, the buildings and property, and even our very land to the Chinese— the latest vultures of Africa, who also bring in their own people and won't hire the locals.
